Binance has reinstated withdrawal services for Hyperliquid (HYPE) and Aptos (APT), marking another step in the exchange's phased recovery following a $6.3 billion security breach on October 29. The company confirmed that users can now withdraw both assets, joining stablecoins and numerous Ethereum and Solana-based tokens that had their services restored in previous rounds.
The exchange initiated the reopening process on November 1 with Bitcoin and selected assets across 15 blockchain networks. Subsequent phases included major cryptocurrencies such as Chainlink (LINK), Shiba Inu (SHIB), and Bonk (BONK). Binance stated that the restoration of remaining assets depends on the completion of individual security checks for each token and network. Despite these updates, some withdrawal services remain unavailable, and the company has not published a complete list of outstanding restrictions.
Market data from November 8 showed HYPE trading near $77.12 and APT at approximately $0.5944. While prices declined slightly over the preceding days, available data does not establish a direct causal link between the price movements and the withdrawal decisions. Binance continues to direct customers to official announcements for further updates on additional asset restorations.
The gradual restoration of specific tokens like HYPE and APT highlights the operational complexity involved in recovering from a large-scale security incident. By tying service availability to individual network security checks, Binance is prioritizing risk mitigation over immediate full functionality. This approach suggests that the exchange is managing customer expectations carefully, acknowledging that trust must be rebuilt through verified stability rather than rapid, potentially unsafe reactivation of all services.
From an Operational Risk perspective, the lack of a comprehensive timeline or list of restricted assets creates uncertainty for users holding less common tokens. While the recovery of high-volume assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum stabilizes the core market, the continued suspension of other withdrawals indicates that the breach's impact was widespread across various blockchain infrastructures. Investors should monitor official channels closely, as the pace of future restorations will likely serve as a key indicator of the exchange's underlying technical resilience and transparency during this post-hack period.
